Dhumal shows soft corner for lower regions

Shimla: “Nirdosh ko cherenge nahin, Doshi ko chorenge nahin.” As the BJP’s candidate for Chief Minister’s post Prem Kumar Dhumal unfolded his abmitions, his address to media was a careful mix of witty phrases and reflections of his soft corner for lower regions of the state. Dhumal said that Dharamshala needed special attention to keep the people of lower areas closer to good administration.

“In order to develop Dharamshala into second capital it will be given more facilities like mini secretariat and courts” said Dhumal. As Dhumal declared to fight corruption and keep a distance from politics of revenge he made special mention of the farmers’ problems. While talking to the media in Shimla on Sunday evening he vowed to order an inquiry into the case of procurement of fake fertilizers and pesticides by Himfed, which caused a heavy loss to wheat farmers and orchadists.
“Instead of fertilizers farmers were sold dirt and that too by a government agency like Himfed. After coming to power an inquiry would definitely be ordered into this case of cheating with farmers”, said Dhumal. However he refused to order inquiry into all the issues which the BJP had raised in the past four years through its chargesheets. “Most of the cases we took up in those four chargesheets have been inquired into and the rest will be inquired objectively,” he said.
Dropping a hint that the Himalayan Ski Village (HSV) would see turbulent times in case BJP comes to power, Dhumal said that so far the HSV does not seem environmentally viable for the state. “According to our information the HSV has not taken all the mandatory environmental and defense clearances. Keeping in view these aspects we will review the prospects of execution of the project.”
Clearing his party of the charges under the ‘hard disc scam’, he waved the forensic report of the Hyderabad laboratory and said,” The report of the lab already says that no active file from the hard disk was deleted.”

  1. NITYIN NITYIN

On a lighter note talking of election slogans, still remember slogans being shouted in Nahan few years back in a rally of Mr. Sadanand

    Jeetenge to lootenge

    Haarenge to kootenge

Working of agencies like Himfed and even Deptt of Food and Civil Supplies should come under scanner and the present minister's assets should be investigated. No wonder that a six term consecutive winner but a one timer minister had been asked not to contest elections.
