2,000 participate in Great Himalayan Run

Shimla: Manoj Kumar from Shimla won the men’s 12-km race in the third Great Himalayan Run, organised by Himachal Pradesh Athletic Association and the Department of Tourism, Youth Services and Sports. More than 2,000 participants from all over the country participated in the annual event.

The second place in the 12-km men’s race was won by Rakesh from Una and the third place went to Hem Raj from Jogindernagar, followed by Anil from Ambala and Anil from Jind. In the women’s category, Guddi Devi from Mandi completed the eight-kilometre run first to emerge the winner. The second and third place went to Sunita from UP and Rekha Devi from Mandi.
In the under-20 boys group, Shashikant from Delhi, Sakesh from Mandi and Nitin from Solan won the top three positions. In the under-0 girls, Neelam from Kullu, Nivedita from Shimla and Sushma from Kullu finished in the top three positions respectively.
