Kathak exponent Mahua Shankar to perform as part of Heritage Walk

Shimla: As a part of the Heritage Walk, scheduled for November 2, in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Kathak exponent, and disciple of Pt Birju Maharaj - Mahua Shankar will perform in the state capital, the following day.

The performance is being organised by the Shimla Chapter of Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music & Culture Among Youth (SPIC MACAY).

Shankar will showcase her talent on November 3 at 11 AM at St. Thomas School and thereafter at 4:30 PM at Auckland House School. The performance at Auckland House will be preceded by an orientation lecture at 3 PM. These performances are open for general public and can be viewed by all for free.

Tourists and general public can join renowned author and historian Raaja Bhasin for a Heritage Walk on November 2. The walk, organised by SPIC MACAY, will start at Hotel Clarkes, Mall Road at 4:15 PM. Raaja Bhasin is a noted historian and author of critically acclaimed book “Simla: The Summer Capital of British India“.

The walk is planned to show the participants, the heritage of Shimla along the Mall Road. On the way, Bhasin will talk about the history of Shimla.
