HimVani

Shimla: Hoping to create HIV/AIDS awareness in the state, The Himachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society has decided to set up a Red Ribbon Club in all the government departments of the state.

The decision was announced by Dr Sulakshana Puri, Project Director, of the society after presiding over a training workshop on HIV/AIDS here. A nodal officer would be responsible for setting up the club in every department and would coordinate with the society and the departments.

Puri informed that a state-wide campaign would be launched for the control of the disease, with the cooperation of departments, NGOs, PRIs and other voluntary organisations. She said that HIV affected cases were being treated free of cost in the state.
