HimVani

Shimla: Rowdy behaviour of a private bus driver with a woman passenger caused a massive traffic jam on the bus stand-Boilauganj road here. According to eyewitnesses, the driver also beat up the women when she objected to the bus being driving rashly. The private bus (HP 631321) was going from Summer Hill to Shimla at around 5 pm when the incident occurred.
The victim, Tara Devi of Sanjauli, said that when the bus reached just ahead of the Summer Hill bus stop, the driver applied breaks forcefully, which made all passengers fall forward. Tara Devi and the conductor fell on the floor due to the jerk. The bus driver continued driving hastily while Tara Devi objected to it. He allegedly began abusing her instead of apologising for his recklessness. She allegedly slapped the driver after this, while the driver too retaliated and beat her wildly. Tara Devi claimed that she was returning home after work and that she recently had a stomach operation.
All this created a big traffic jam at Boileauganj. Meanwhile, police was informed and the driver and the conductor were taken to the nearest police station, However, no case was registered, and the accused driver was let off after paying Rs 1500 as compensation.
