Shimla: To help Himachalis build safe and environmentally sustainable houses, ACC Limited has started a project to provide free counseling to people planning to build a house. Stating this during the two-day workshop on Good Construction Practices, company officials claimed that if approached by a consumer, the company would send a technical team for spot evaluation. It would also offer help in carrying out various tests like silt collector test, cube test, sieve test and aggregate concrete test among others. ACC has also launched a website (http://www.askacc.com) to help customers plan a house as per the specifications of the Bureau of Indian Standards. Experts from the Public Works Department also participated in the workshop.
