HP govt forms committee to enforce Apartment Act

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to keep a tab on registered builders in the state witha  view to check sub-standard construction. HIMUDA has constituted a committee to make builders comply with the provisions of the Apartment Act. If found violating constructioin and safety norms, builders would be appropriately punished and their seurity amount confiscated.
Recently, the government had given licences to about 12 builders under the Apartment Act.Following the industrial boom, there is said to be shortage of about 3 lakh houses in the state.
