Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has become the first north Indian state to get ISO-9001:2000 certification for issuance of driving licenses and registration certificates for vehicles. A government spokesman on Sunday said it has been made possible to issue driving licenses and registration certificates within three working days after submission of complete application forms on first come first serve basis. Another ambitious project, Him Bhoomi has helped in streamlining land record maintenance and contributed towards uniformity in record keeping. The software helps to generate the next jamabandi and related records after amalgamating changes due to mutations and changes observed in harvest inspection automatically. This software is under implementation in all 12 districts. The HimRis (Himachal Registration Information System) software helps the registrar’s offices to undertake deed registration in an efficient, simple and speedy manner.
