Dharamshala: The Kangra Valley Tea producers Association will hold a four-day international tea conference here starting June 1. The seminar would be titled - Kangra Tea Science 2020. Union commerce minister Jairam Ramesh has been invited to inaugurate the seminar, and prominent tea scientist Dr NK Jain, and all former and current vice-chancellor of Palampur Agriculture University would be present at the seminar.
The Kangra tea has a history of more than 150 years, and is known for its quality of aroma. However, over the years tea gardens have been vanishing on the slopes of Dhauladhar hills due to various reasons like lack of marketing, falling profits, etc.
