A scene of a traffic jam in Kufri, February 18.

After record snow in Shimla, traffic jams have become common in the upper Shimla region. Though roads have been cleared for traffic, yet due to sub-zero temperature, ice formation on the roads still continues and making difficult for drivers to handle their vehicles.

The NH is all cleared but yes the link roads are still a problem. This year the PWD have pressed snow cutters and they seems to be doing a good job. Narkanda and Kharapatthar are two problematic spots but traffic is still moving. Due to less tourist arrival during snow time, Kufri had no problems with jam.

With snow god smiling though late… traffic chaos is a minor irritant.
