Met dept forecast rain or snow in next three days

Shimla (Jan 12): Indian Meteorological Department has forecast rain or snow spell in the next 24 hours owing to developing of Western Disturbances over north India.

According to the state in-charge of IMD, Manmohan Singh, Western Disturbances may bring rain and snow at many places in the high reaches on January 14 and 15, while some isolated places may get rain on January 13.

Meanwhile, mercury is still two to three degrees below normal as Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was low at minus 12.4 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur at minus 5.2 degrees, Sundernagar 0.9 degrees, Bhuntar 0.8 degrees and Solan 1.4 degrees. Minimum temperature in Mandi was two degrees, Dharamsala in Kangra and Una was 3.5 degrees each, Palampur in Kangra and Nahan in Sirmaur five degrees and Shimla 6 degrees, respectively.

About 40 people were evacuated from snowbound Siso and Satingri area of Lahaul Spiti district today as two sorties took place this afternoon.
