18 injured in road mishap

Dharamsala (Dec 21): At least eighteen people were injured when a private bus in which they were travelling overturned at Peer Bar, police said today. According to Kangra district police chief Diljeet Thakur, a private bus overturned at Peer Bar when it was on way to Amb from Dehra. Preliminary investigation indicated rash and negligent driving and a case under sections 279 and 337 of IPC was registered against the driver of the bus. The injured were admitted to a PHC at Sheetla.

In another incident, a woman died while her husband was injured when a car carrying them fell down a slope at Salogra near this Solan this afternoon. Asha Kanwar (58), belonging to Nahan town of Sirmaur district, died on the spot, while her husband Kanwar Govind Singh, a retired police officer, was injured critically and referred to IGMC Shimla.
