Rivoli cinema declared unsafe for public

Shimla (Dec 16): Rivoli cinema, the most popular among three cinema halls in Shimla town, was declared unsafe for public after invoking Himachal Pradesh Cinema (Regulation) Act 1979 with immediate effect by deputy commissioner JS Rana here today.

While talking to HimVani, Rana disclosed that one wall of the 90-yr-old building has developed cracks, as a result it is not safe for public use. He said that the district administration has asked its owners to renovate the premises. Rivoli Theatre, located near Ice-Skating Rink, was built during the 1920s by the erstwhile ruler of Nahan estate.
