Ravi Inder, Yuvraj Singh assist Punjab to draw against Himachal

Dharamshala: (Nov 20) Former champion, Punjab’s Ravi Inder Singh stole the show on the fourth and final day by making a patient century in Super League Ranji Trophy match against hosts Himachal Pradesh, ending the match in a draw. Resuming at an overnight score of 42 for the loss of Uday Kaul’s wicket after follow-on, Punjab rode on Ravi Inder’s century and Yuvraj Singh’s score of 92 to score 285 for four before stumps were drawn for the final time in the match.

After their dismisal in the 1st. innings, they conceded a lead of more than 200 runs, and with one full day to go, Punjab needed their top order to fire, and the visitors found their men in Ravi Inder and Yuvraj. Ravi Inder hit 20 boundaries and a six during his knock of 330-ball 129, while Yuvraj smashed 15 boundaries and two sixes during his stay at the wicket. The left-hander, who is trying to make a comeback into the Indian team, took just 146 balls to score his runs. For Himachal, medium pacer Rishi Dhawan picked up three wickets for 59 runs.
