Mukesh Agnihotri elected leader of Congress Himachal Legislative

All India Congress Committee Chief Rahul Gandhi today elected three times Congress MLA and former Minister Mukesh Agnihotri as the State Congress legislative party leader. The party State in charge Sushil Kumar Shinde told that Mr Agnihotri would be the leader of Congress legislative party in Himachal Pradesh State Assembly.

Himachal Pradesh state Congress unit Spokesman Mr Naresh Chauhan informed that party CLP Leader would be Mr Agnihotri. The Congress legislative party leader who would not be the leader of Opposition in the State Assembly as Congress did not have one-third strength in the Assembly.

Congress Legislative party should have at least 23 members in the house to get Leader of Opposition party status as it has only 21 members. Earlier Octogenarian leader Mr Virbhadra Singh was being projected as Leader of Congress legislative party. The party legislative meeting unanimously has passed resolution yesterday authorizing party President Rahul Gandhi to appoint the leader of Congress legislative party.
