Gudiya gangrape case: Court defers hearing on CBI plea to get voice samples of cops

Local Court in Shimla today deferred the hearing on the Gudiya gangrape case CBI plea to get voice samples of the eight cops charge-sheeted in the murder of Suraj in police custody arrested by the police SIT on July 18, 2017. The case came for hearing by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Mr Ranjeet Singh Court today.

All the accused in Gudiya gangrape case including IG Z H Zaidi, SP D W Negi and DSP Manoj Joshi were produced in the Court who are undergoing judicial custody and charge-sheeted recently. Counsel of the agency Mr Sushil Negi told that they moved an application for extension of time as prosecution sanction has not been received yet. The application was allowed by Chief Justice Magistrate Court.

No argument was taken place on the application of voice samples of the accused as the accused were still unrepresented. The Court asked them either to engage Pvt Counsels or the Court can provide counsels from legal aid panel. Accused moved an application for giving them one more opportunity to engage Counsel. The application was allowed.

The application of Mr Zaidi in Gudiya gangrape case is to exempt his judicial custody to avail the break to allow him to get his mobile no. Connected with Aadhar also adjourned as the reply to the same is to be filled by CBI. Now the Court has deferred the hearing on Gudiya gangrape case till Dec 29, 2017. Accused were represented by remand counsel in the absence of private counsel.
