Vehicular traffic on Hatkoti-Kharapathar road disrupted by the landslide: DC

The vehicular Traffic on Hatkoti-Kharapathar road was disrupted by the landslide affecting the transport of Apple crop to market besides the normal fleet of private vehicles and public buses. Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Mr. Rohan Chand Thakur said in a press statement that near Doachi area Hartkoit-Kharapathar road was blocked by the landslides this morning which could not be restored so far. He said that efforts are on to clear the road on war footing basis.

 

Meanwhile SDM Rohru Mr. Ganshayam Sharma has been looking after the restoration work on the spot. He said that administration assures the people to restore the traffic on the road quickly so that transportation of articles and passengers could be resumed soon as possible. He said that vehicular traffic has been diverted on the alternate road through Padsari-Kharapather road till it is not clear.

 

The weather was mainly dry in the state and there is no report of rain or snowfall expect few places in the State. Shimla town was lashed by light monsoon rain showers in the afternoon however it was mainly dry for last three days. In Jogindernagar 11 mm rain was recorded, Dharamshala and Palampur of Kangra district got five and two mm rainfall in the State. The maximum temperature and humidity show a slight increase as Shimla was high as 25.3 degrees, Sundernagar 33.2 degrees, Bhuntar 34.5 degrees, Kalpa 26 degrees, Dharamshala 29.4 degrees, Una 36.2 degrees, Nahan 28.9 degrees, Solan 29.5 degrees, Manali 26 degrees and Kangra 33 degrees respectively.

 

The Met Office forecast rain at few places in mid and foothills and at the isolated parts of high reaches in next 24 hours.
