The South-West Monsoon which lashed many places in the last 24 hours, renders loss of property of about 27.30 Lakh in Shimla district. Moreover Chandigarh-Manali National Highway 21 remained closed for many hours after anumber of landslides. The Deputy Commissioner Shimla Mr. Rohan Chand Thakur siad that rain rendered loss of Rs 27.30 lakh during last 24 hrs mounting the total loss to the State and private property tunes to Rs 8,62 Cr.
Shimla town got 16 mm rain, Shimla Airport six mm. Many parts of Mandi district received heavy rainfall during the last 24 hours and triggered landslides on Chandigarh-Manali highway at a number of points. However the road was restored after six to seven hours The National highway also recorded heavy boulders on the road. Construction work of four lane between Sunderngar and Mandi triggering landslides at many places.
Sarkaghat got 36 mm rainfall, Dharmshala got 118 mm rainfall, Paontasahib of Sirmaur 99 mm, Nainadevi in Bilaspur 91 mm,Gaggal of Kangra 87 mm, Palampur 50 mm, Nagrota surian 41 mm, Una 38 mm, Amb 33 mm, Ghamroor of Kangra 18 mm, Pachhad of Sirmaur 13 mm, Kasauli in Solan 7 mm & Arki 6 mm respectively. The minimum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 17.1 degree Celsius, Sundernagar of Mandi 23.1 degrees, Bhuntar of Kulu 21.4 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar 15.4 degrees, Dharamshala 17.4 degrees, Una 25 degrees, Nahan of Sirmaur 20.3 degrees, Keylong of Lahaul Spiti 16 degrees, Solan 21.4 degrees, Manali of Kullu 15 degrees. Kangra 21.7 degrees, Mandi 18.2 degrees, Bilaspur 23.3 degrees, Hamirpur 24.1 degrees respectively.
The maximum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 22.4 degrees, Sundernagar 31.4 degrees, Bhuntar 32.4 degrees, Kalpa 23.6 degrees, Dharamshala 27.2 degrees, Una 30.6 degrees, Nahan 27.8 degrees, Solan 24.4 degrees and Kangra 30 degrees respectively. The Met office warned of heavy rainfall at few parts of the State and forecast rainfall at most places in the mid and foot hills and many places in the high reaches during the next 24 hours.
