South-West Monsoon vigorously active in Himachal

The South-West Monsoon system is vigorously active in the State of Himachal Pradesh as most parts lashed with moderate to heavy rainfall in the 24 hours. The Met Office said that Jogindernagar in Mandi district had 184 mm rainfall, Baijnath of Kangra 90 mm, Una 65 mm, Dharamshala in Kangra 49 mm, Arki of Solan 48 mm, Nahan in Sirmaur 45 mm, Rajgarh 43 mm, Palampur 41 mm, Nainadevi of Bilaspur 36 mm and Solna 31 mm.

 

The rainfall also lashed Jhandutta of Bilaspur & Sujanpur tihra of Hamirpur got 30 mm each, Bangana of Una & Shimla 29 mm each, Hamirpur & Sundernagar of Mandi 26 mm each, Berthin of Bilaspur 25 mm, Jubbarhatti of Shimla 24 mm, Paonta Sahib of Sirmaur 22 mm, Pandoh of Mandi 18 mm, & Pachhad of Sirmaur 17 mm each, Sarahan in Shimla 16 mm, Rampurbushar in Shimla 15 mm  & Dehra Gopipur of Kangra 14 mm respectively.

 

The maximum temperature came down as Una was high at 31.6 degrees, Kangra and Sunderngar 29.7 degrees each, Dharamshala 28.4 degrees, Bhuntar 27.5 degrees, Nahan 23.5 degrees, Solan 23.3 degrees, Shimla 21.4 degrees and Kalpa 18.4 degrees respectively. The Met Office forecast rain or thundershowers at most places in the high reaches, mid and foothills during the next 24 hours.
