SW Monsoon scanty in Himachal Pradesh

Th South-West Monsoon system remained scanty after a week of its arrival in the State as sweltering heatwaves continue in the State with bright sunshine in most places in last 24 hours. There are reports of Monsoon rain as Gohar got 29 mm rain in Mandi, Pandoh 19 mm tourists resort Manali 17 mm, Nainadevi in Bilaspur 16 mm, Janjehli in Mandi 10 mm Bijahi 7 mm and Dehragopipur in Kangra three mm.

 

The Maximum temperature rise by couple of degrees as Una recorded highest with 37.2 degrees Celsius, Una 37.2 degrees, Sundernagar 25 degrees, Bhuntar and Kangra 34 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur was high at 30 degrees, Dharmshala 29.8 degrees, Solan 29.4 degrees, Shimla 25.7 degrees, Manali 24.8 degrees and Kalpa 22.4 degrees respectively.

 

The Met office forecast rain and thundershower at few places in the mid and foot hills and rain and snowfall at isolated places in the high reaches during the next 24 hours.
