South West Monsoon likely to touch Himachal within next 48 hours

The South West Monsoon likely to touch this hill state in the next 48 hours moreover thick clouds were already hovering in the sky keeping dense fogs and shadow conditions. In a communication released today mentioned that the conditions are developing for the further advance of South-West monsoon into remaining parts of Country including Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, entire West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and most parts of Rajasthan during the next 48 hours.

 

The Western disturbances lashed many parts of the State in the last 24 hours as the sky was overcast keeping the dense fogs and shadow conditions. The insistent rainfall occurred in Shimla town choking down the drains and entering of flood drains water in to the shops and homes. Poanta Sahib in Sirmaur recorded 77 mm rainfall, Nahan 50 mm, Una 29 mm, Solan 27 mm, Kangra 25 mm, Palampur 24 mm, Shimla 21.4 mm, Manali of Kullu 18.2 mm, Jubberhati of Shimla and Saluni in Chamba 16.5 mm, Buntar 13 mm and Kalpa 10 mm respectively.

 

The minimum temperature dip by couple of degrees as Shimla was low at 15.6 degrees, Sunderngar 20.6 degrees, Bhuntar 17.2 degrees, Kalpa 11.4 degrees, Una 21 degrees, Nahan 17 degrees, Palampur 17.5 degrees, Solan 18.4 degrees, Kangra 20 degrees and Mandi 15.3 degrees respectively. The Met office forecast rain and thundershower in the next 24 hours at many places in the foot and mid hills and rain and snowfall at many parts of high reaches.
