Braving the rough weather, thousands of men, women and children took part in the World Yoga Day function at Sujanpur Tira Kaswa of the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh today. They were led by Guru Ravi Shankar of Art of Living Society and Smriti Irani, Union Minister along with senior state level leaders of the BJP including former Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal.
While addressing the gathering, Guru Ravi Shanker exhorted the people to make yoga as a part of their daily life and thereby remain fit and healthy. He said that Yoga was badly needed for all in the present set up. He said that feeling the necessity of the Yog, the United Nations had decided to observe June 21st as World Yog day.
He patted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to take it to the United Nations to get it declared as World level day. Art of living Guru said that the coming generation had to play a major role in changing the society and for that they had to remain mentally and physically fit and yog was the need of the hour for them.
