Respite from heat waves after pre-monsoon showers in HP

Just a weak ahead of South-West monsoon, this hill state experienced premonsoon showers at most places in the State giving respite from sweltering heat waves. Mashobra got 93 mm rainfall followed by Gohar 76 mm, Dharamshala 67 mm, Ghamroor 53 mm, Ghumarwin in Bilaspur 43 mm, Sundernagar 31 mm, Bhoranj in Hamirpur 30 mm and Mandi town 28 mm respectively.

 

Rainfall also lashed Sujanpur Tira 20 mm, Jogindernagar 19 mm, Karsog & Baijnath 15 mm each, Arki in Solan & Guler in Kangra 14 mm each, Banjar in Kullu 13 mm, Sarkaghat in Mandi, Amb in Una 29 mm Solan 18 mm and Palampur 12 mm each. The maximum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 22.6 degrees, Sundernagar 27.6 degrees, Bhuntar 25.5 degrees, Kalpa 21 degrees, Dharamshala 27.4 degrees, Una 34.2 degrees, Nahan 30.6 degrees, Solan 28 degrees, Manali 25.2 degrees and Kangra 32 degrees respectivley.

 

The Met office forecast rainfall at many parts of the State in the next 24 hours and warned of heavy rainfall at one or two places.
