HC seeks report on widening of National Highway project

The Himachal Pradesh High Court today directed Project Manager, M/s G.R. Infrastructure Co. Ltd. constructing the National Highway Project between Parwanoo and Solan to file fresh progress report within two days in the Court about construction and widening of the road. A Division Bench comprising the Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a writ petition filed by one Kuldeep Singh S/o Sardar Kartar Singh Bhatia R/o Giani Dhaba, Sukhi Johari, Dharampur, District Solan, H.P.

 

During the hearing of the petition, the Court noted that some progress with regard to construction or widening of the National Highway Project has taken place and the traffic is now running somewhat smoothly. The Court also praised the efforts put in by the officers specially D.C. Solan, S.P. Solan, Chief Engineer (PWD), National Highways Project Director, National Highway Authority of India and Regional Officer, National Highway Authority of India H.P.. All the above mentioned respondents were present before the Court today.

 

The petitioner has challenged the notice issued by the National Highway Authority for removal of unauthorized occupation along the Highway. This matter would now be listed before the Court on June 15, 2017 for further hearing.
