Rahul Gandhi attends Shobha Nehru’s cremation at Kasauli

AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi today attended cremation of Smt. Shobha Nehru wife of late B K Nehru held at hill station Kasauli in Solan district this afternoon as Mr. Gandhi was seen in the crematoria. The last remains of Smt. Nehru was consigned to fire according to the Hindu rites at Mashobra crematorium on Kasuli-Parmano highway.

 

Mr. Gandhi arrived here in a vehicle from Chandigarh Airport and attended the funeral at 1230 hours. Mr. Gandhi had been visiting Smt. Nehru during her stay here as he came here last year. Local Congress leaders was visible along with Mr. Gandhi at the funeral ground. Mr. Gandhi also met with his Uncle and lone Son of B K Nehru and empathized him on demise of his mother.

 

Smt. Shobha Nehru died at her Kasauli residence at 0430 hours on tuesday morning. She was wife of former diplomat B K Nehru, cousin brother of Pt. J.L. Nehru. She was 109 year and oldest woman of Jewish community in Country. She was named as Magdolana Feedman who was renown as Shoba Pandit, The Nehru-Gandhi family couple arrived here in 80s of last century and made the Kasauli there permanent abode. On Oct 31 2001, Mr. B.K Nehru died at Kasauli in age of 92 yrs. They were living in the Fair View Banglow which was bought by Mr. Nehru 1987.
