Death toll in inclement weather rise up to three

The death toll in this inclement weather conditions went up to three as the gate of a park come down on the woman while she was passing nearby it in tourist resort Dalhousie this morning. The reports arriving said that 55 years old aganwari worker Lila Matu was passing nearby the Sadar bazar park when a column of gate hit her as it was dislodged by the wind storm. She died on the spot.

 

The death toll to windstorm and inclement weather increased as two persons belonging to a village at Nankhari of Rampur were killed on Wednesday morning when they were hit by the lightening injuring eight others. The vehicular traffic disrupted in Shimla town as two big Deodar tree dislodged by the wind storm this afternoon and a landslide hit the New ISBT -Khalni road at Tuttikandi area.

 

The Deputy Mayor of Shimla MC said that a huge tree come down on the road at Sanjauli disrupting vehicular traffic and movement of commuters in Bazaar. Similarly old tree uprooted by the wind near Historic Church at the Ridge disrupting power supply, movement of commuters and traffic. The vehicular traffic remained disrupted at ISBT Khalini by-pass road after massive landslide happened near the under construction MC parking.

 

Cables, telecommunication and power supply affected in most parts of State today as a number of trees and power posts were uprooted in the State due to heavy wind, rainfall and lightening.
