9087 posts vacant in Himachal hospitals

As many as 9087 posts of doctors and other paramedical staffs are lying vacant in the State including 1085 posts at IGMC Shimla, 827 at Dr RPGMC Tanda and 1712 at Dr Y S Parmar Medical College Nahan, respectively. This was stated by the Health Minister Mr. Kaul Singh Thakur while replying to supplementary query in the Question Hour today.

 

He said that out of about 22,212 created posts of staff in the hospital 9087 are lying vacant in the State. He said that that against 2278 sanctioned post at IGMC 1193 are filled, in Dr RPGMC Tanda out of 1391 sanctioned post 827, in Dr YSPMC Nahan out of 1969 sanctioned posts only 47 are filled.

 

Similarly in Medical colleges Hamripur out of 201 posts all are vacant, in Chamba out of 201, one was filled and in Nerchoke Medical college out of 828 hospital 58 were also filled. Mr Thakur said that out of 6618 created posts in medical colleges about 4495 were lying vacant. and filled 2113.  Mr. Thakur said that walk-in -interview were held to post more doctors for Medical colleges Hamirpur and Chamba.

 

Mr. Thakur claimed that during the last four years State Government filled as many as 700 posts including 550 MBBS doctors. Mr Thakur added that it had created 3248 new posts in the hospital. He ascertained the members that in 100 bedded hospital at Dehra would depute more doctor to end the shortage of staff. Health Minister informed that keeping required strengthen of patients in Indoor and outdoor units it would depute more doctors in the State.

 

Mr. Thakur said that government was creating post of doctors after upgrading the Civil Hospital Centre to Primary Health Centre . He said that before upgrading 50PHC it was also giving in cabinet sanctioned of medical staff in the State. Mr. Thakur said that five Trauma centres were sanctioned by the Union Government and nine others are before it to sanction. He complimented Union health Minister Mr. Jagat Prakesh Nadda for helping the state sanctioned five trauma units and hope to get nod for more centres.

 

Earlier, former Health Minister and BJP member, Mr. Rajiv Bindal alleged that number of posts of doctors were still lying vacant however it was blindly creating new posts and upgrading the hospitals without filling them due to dearth of MBBS doctors in the state. He alleged that more than ten thousands posts are still vacant in the hospitals and mostly in the medical colleges.

 

Ravinder Singh Ravi alleged that 100 bedded Dehra hospital in Kangra district could not render its services to people as out of sanctioned eight doctors only four to five were serving in the hospitals and rest are either deputed on deputation or lying vacant. Seeking increase in the number of doctors in the hospital he asserted that keeping this high accident prone area in mind state should provide more medical officers there.
