Banking services paralyses due to nation-wide strike of employees

Banking services across this hill state paralyzed as about 10 lakh employees and officers in all public sector banks including SBI went on  strike today on the nation wide call of the State. Secretary of state unit of United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU) Mr. Prem Verma said that including public sectors banks all old generation private banks, foreign banks, Regional Rural Banks and Cooperative banks joined one-day nation-wide strike called by UFBU.

 

He said that under the banner of UFBU workmen unions and officers’ associations – AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBW and NOBO have come together to press their demands. BJP affiliated BMS bank affiliates National Organisation of Bank Workers and the National Organisation of Bank Officers are not taking part in the agitation however their number are almost negligible in the State.

 

Baring  ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra and Axis Bank all banks did not function in the State. As people came out for their home they found the bank almost closed idle owing to strike. Striking employees and Officers of banks also hold a protest meeting outside the SBI banks in all major town in the State.
