High reaches experience fresh snowfall in HP

Upper reaches of Lahaul Spiti and Kullu recorded fresh spell of snowfall however it was mainly dry in the rest of State and day and night temperature marginally increased in the last 24 hours. In Lahaul Spiti district Keylong & Udaipur got four centimeter snowfall each and Kothi of Kullu got four mm rainfall. It was mainly over cast in the morning and high reaches of Kullu and Lahaul Spiti experienced fresh spell of snowfall. The Lady of Keylong, Seven Sisters hill and 13050 ft high Rohtang Pass reported the moderate snowfall in the last 24 hours.

 

Barring Keylong, Mercury improvised in all over the State. The minimum temperature of Keylong was at minus 0.6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar was at one degree and tourist resort Manali at seven degrees. Dharamshala in Kangra recorded low at 10 degrees, Shimla 10.5 degrees, Mandi, Bhuntar in Kullu and Palampur in Kangra was low at 11.5 degrees each, Sundernagar of Mandi 11.8 degrees, Bilaspur, Nahan in Sirmaour, Solan 12 degrees each, Kangra 13 degrees and Una and Hamirpur 14 degrees respectively.

 

The maximum temperature of Shimla was 20.3 degrees, Sundernagar 25 degrees, Bhuntar 24.5 degrees, Kalpa 15 degrees, Manali, 17 degrees, Dharamshala 18.6 degrees, Una 27.8 degrees, Nahan 23.5 degrees, Kangra and Solan 26 degrees each respectively.  Met Office forecast inclement weather in next two days and warned of heavy rain or snowfall at one or two places in the mid and high reaches on Feb 19.
