Himachal Road Transport Corporation unveiled Paytm wallet payment system and rolled out 200 POS machines to faciliate the passengers to avail booking in the buses and get ticket online. Transport Minister G.S Bali today said that payment through Paytm wallet would be started on all advance-booking counters of HRTC web portal as most of the people were using this wallet for making the payment through mobile. He said 200 POS machines for payment through Debit/Credit cards would also be installed from 20 February, 2017 at all booking counters and would be provided to the conductors of super luxury buses.
The Minister said for ensuring the quality food by Dhabas and restaurants, it had been decided to charge Rs. 5000 on the owners for first complaint which increased to Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 20,000 on subsequent complaints. HRTC would blacklist such Dhabas owners on fourth complaint. Mr. Bali said super luxury bus will be started between Shimla to Chandigarh (two trips) and with a view to facilitate the people of Sarkaghat area of Mandi district, Jahu-Delhi super luxury bus service would be extended up to Sarkaghat within next three days.
He said Hamirpur-Amritsar via Hoshiarpur super luxury bus service would be started from 9 February, 2017 whereas Golden Temple super luxury bus service would also be started from Shimla to Amritsar in the due course of time. He added that one mudrika bus service would be started from Mcleodganj to Tanda Medical College for employees and students of the college. Mr. Bali said that HRTC was ensuring safety and comfortable journey to the commuters for which various measures had been taken up and keeping in view the demand of the passengers, more facilities would be provided in the future as well.
The Transport Minister said the revenue of the Corporation has increased from Rs. 508 to Rs.560 crore during the current financial year.
