SMC teachers will not be replaced by regular ones: CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said today that the Government would formulate a policy to retain the services of  School Management Committee (SMC) teachers and they would not be replaced. Presiding over the convention organized by School Management Committee (SMC) Teachers Association in Shimla today, Mr. Singh said that these teachers would not be replaced by regular teachers as there would be no posting against them.

 

Mr. Singh said that the Government has taken this decision after keeping in view the services delivered by these teachers in hard and tribal areas for keeping education system alive and flowing. The Chief Minister said that the Government would take adequate measures to fulfill all other genuine demands of the teachers and would certainly have a sitting dialogue with them.

 

He assured to take up the issue of preparation of leave calendar for SMC teachers in near future. He said that SMC Teachers Association was brain child of the Congress Government so that no child was bereft of education in far flung and tribal areas of the State and lauded the efforts of SMC teachers in spreading the light of education in such areas.
