3 Documentary Films on Gender discrimination to be screened at Gaiety Theatre

Under the Gender awareness drive, ‘Himalayan Velocity’ a group of local  film producers would screen three documentary films at historic Gaiety Theatre in Shimla tomorrow to highlight the plight of women facing challenges at their workplaces. The Managing Director of group Mr. Pushp Raj Thakur told Himvani that event was organized before New Year’s Eve to highlight bitter instances of discrimination against fare sex at policies level to encourage the victims to promptly raise their voices against perpetual tyranny.

 

“A Struggle against Gender Stereotypes” is a 22 minutes documentary film produced and directed by Ajay Chintis. This film is about the struggle of a women lawyer Payal who left her job due to gender discrimination at her workplace and started her own law firm which won her the IDEX awards for the top three startups of 2013. She was also named as one of the minds to watch out for by the Forbes India. Payal will be present during the screening of her film in gaiety theater along with the Director of the film Ajay Chintis.

 

The 2nd screening would be the on the young Entrepreneur who was born and brought up in Shimla and today he is known for the smart phone revolution in India. “The Untold Story: Arvind Vohra” is also 22 minutes documentary film again directed and produced by Ajay Chintis. Studied in St. Edwards School Shimla, MD and CEO of one of the India’s fastest growing smart phone brands Gionee India, Arvind R Vohra is a path breaker and game changer and inspiration for many youngsters.

 

”No Woman’s land ” would be the third documentary to be screened, directed by Dr. Dev Kanya Thakur with duration of 40 minutes. This film is based on the struggle of tribal women of Himachal Pradesh for their property rights. This film has already won many awards in various National and International Film Festivals.
