Pay your electricity bills online in Himachal

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday launched the online electricity bill payment facility in Shimla. To begin with, the service would be provided to 37,000 consumers of Ridge, Sanjauli, Boileauganj, Chhota Shimla and Idgah City Electrical Sub Divisions of Shimla town.

The chief minister registered himself on the website address www.hpseb.com and paid his electricity bill by opening his account on the site. The facility would be soon extended to the district headquarters in coming time besides making the system full proof so that consumers’ interests were protected.

Virbhadra Singh said that the modern technology had revolutionized the world and had turned the world into a global village as instant information about any event taking place in any part of the world was available on internet at once at the click of mouse. He said that adoption of the information technology in disposing off the official assignments had helped immensely in speeding up of the paper work and reduced the correspondence practice considerably. He said that computerization of the entire government departments was at an advanced stage and would be beneficial to get any problem solved without wasting any time.

  2. Really this service is limited to very small and narrow region of state and government should take required initiatives to extend it further.
