Two members of a family were killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Kunana village of Hamipur district today afternoon. ASP Hamirpur Dr. Shiv Kumar said that Raj Kumar (36) was driving the tipper and his family members including his wife Veena Devi aged 34 years and two children Komal and Banshu were also seating in the vehicle on way to their house.
However, the owner of the tipper failed to take control over the vehicle and the vehicle fell into 700 feet deep in Poong khad as a result husband and wide died at the spot and both the tiny tots received serious injuries. He said that hearing sounds of falling of a vehicle in the khad, local people rushed to the spot and supervised the rescue operations. They extricated the bodies from beneath the tipper as well as also both the injured children.
The ASP said that the children have been sent to PGI Chandigarh for treatment being serious in nature. The police have registered a case under sections 279,337 and 304-A of Indian penal code and further investigations in the accident was on.
