CM Virbhadra inaugurates Cyber Crime Police Station

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh digitally inaugurated the State Cyber Crime Police Station located at State Police Headquarter today. Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said the State Cyber Crime Police Station has been created by the State Government as per his budget speech announcement.

 

He said that the main objective of this Cyber Crime Police Station was to deal with the increasing crime based on misuse of information technology (Cyber Space) by the High tech criminals. He said that the facility will be provided with all the necessary technical assistance in apprehending the suspects and collection of digital evidence on all issue of cyber crime. It will investigate and register all serious cyber offences i.e. hacking of government web sites and its data, prevention and detection of cyber terrorism & financing all types of cyber fraud cases, identifying communal tension modules etc, he added.

 

CM Virbhadra Singh said that the Cyber Crime Police Station will also liaise and undertake investigation of cases of cyber crime having impact in National and International level along with the nodal agencies of these organizations for prevention, detection and investigation of cyber crime. The Cyber Police Station will also be responsible for creating general awareness among the masses to prevent them from falling victim to the hands of high and cyber tech criminals.

The Chief Secretary V.C. Pharka, Director General of Police Sanjay Kumar and Prithvi Raj, Principal Secretary Home Prabodh Saxena, Additional Director General of Police Atul Verma  and other senior officers of the police and administration were also present on the occasion.
