Centre constitutes panel to develop blueprint for HP Industrial development: Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Center has constituted a panel to develop blueprint for Himahcal Pradesh Industrial Development while replying to a query in the Lok Sabha today. This was told  by Nirmala Sitharaman in reply to Shimla Member Parliament Mr. Virender Kashyap in Lok Sabha adding that the Industrial Policy and Promotion to examine and suggest a road map for a new industrial policy for Himachal Pradesh and North Eastern and Himalayan States.

 

The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has decided to constitute a Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Executive Officer, NITI Aayog consisting of Secretaries of Ministries or Departments of Development of North Eastern Region, Expenditure, Commerce, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Micro Small and Medium Enterprise, Textiles, Tourism, Health and Family Welfare and Power.

 

The Minister claimed that there was no report of closure of industrial units due to heavy losses in Himachal Pradesh and other hilly states   after the stoppage of benefits under special package. The minister told the Member Parliament in Lok Sabha  that  Special Package Scheme are available in the States of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till March, 31, 2017 and for the State of Jammu & Kashmir upto June 14, 2017.
