With a fleet of 3150 buses, HRTC strongest State transport unit in Country: Minister

With the addition of 1800 new buses, Himachal Pradesh Transport Corporation (HRTC) became strongest Transport State Sector Unit in the Country, this was claimed by State Transport Minister Mr. G. S. Bali while interacting with the media people today. He said HRTC has as many as 3150 buses in its fleet which places this State sector transport unit biggest as compared to other roadways.

 

He said that HRTC extended its daily route strength by 15000 meters in Punjab. Mr.Bali said that it has about 84 luxury buses which will be increased to 100 soon. He said one dozen seater super luxury bus were added to its fleet and 400 new buses were added recently.He said that 120 new cabs were also deployed in far-flung area.

 

During the demonetization move HRTC allowed to take Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination notes and on the month of Nov it recorded advance booking of Rs 10 lakh by around 9000 passengers. The Transport Department also decided to bring new Road Safety Act in next cabinet meeting to clear in next winter season.

 

HRTC has also formed a Hill State Road Council to work together for reducing road accidents. He said that Rs 175 Cr have been provided to distribute allowance and pensions to employees moreover about 627 Cr have provided during last four years.
