HP Governor urges lawyers to uphold Indian value system

Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat urged the lawyers to emulate the Indian value system terming it more relevant in the contemporary era to specific, defines rights and duties of an individual for building a strong society. He was speaking on the occasion of Constitution Day organized by Himachal Pradesh High Court unit of  ‘Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad’ at Shimla on Friday evening. He said this system originated in India and the entire world adopted it later adding that these values were incorporated in our Constitution for the welfare of the society.

The Governor said that we had a very rich culture and old traditions and Saint Manu gave us the system of human constitution to the world. Ancient Indian constitution had been taught in the form of duties and non-violence, truth etc. and they have been the main ingredients of ancient Indian constitution and all had dutiful aspects of the system. He said that the Vedas were the foundation of our rich culture and source of knowledge and wisdom which were acknowledged across the world.

 

Acharya Devvrat said that Indian civilization was most ancient as well as richest and the most glorious aspect of our civilization was that it focuses upon instilling humanitarian values in individuals by developing inspiring qualities like empathy, compassion and sensitivity which strengthens the spirit of oneness and brotherhood and promote peace in the society.
