SOLAN: Sale, lease, mortgage, exchange and gift of land in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area has been banned by the government. The ban would be applicable to the area falling under the Nalagarh Baddi Barotiwala Industrial Development Authority.
It may be mentioned that a sudden rush of industrial units had led to unplanned development of the area. Industries had come up on agriculture land and even on space earmarked for green and open space, causing investors to seek a change in land use to set up their industries. This haphazard industrialisation had led to an influx of industries in the area and property dealers had been selling land irrespective of its. This had led to industries coming up amidst residential areas, fields, educational institutes, etc.

As much as 4,000 bighas is proposed to be acquired in the area by the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority.

However, all those cases where the government had granted approval under Section 118 of the Himachal Pradsh Land Reforms and Tenancy Act would face no problem in getting their land registered.
