Solan admin crack whips against 41 land sharks

Solan district known for dubious distinction of den of land dealers and sharks cracked the whip against 41 shoddy land deals also called ‘Benami Transaction’ in legal parlance senior functionary district administration revealed during high power panel interaction of State legislators to probe the issue.

 

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Kanwar informed Himahcal Pradesh Legislative panel (Subordinate Legislation Committee) on Thursday that action have been taken against the 41 illegal land transaction and rest 82 cases were under scrutiny in the Courts. Legislative panel empowered by the Assembly to probe and seek explanation was on district tour under the chairmanship of Mr. Gulab Singh Thakur  who is BJP legislators and former speaker of Assembly.

 

The panel also pressed to take more details in such matter ordering revenue officials to ensure enactment law in the district.  The panels visits every districts on regular intervals of time round the  years to ensure that  proper implementation of legislations passed by the assembly before submitting its reports  in the floor of the house. It also taken reports about  working of urban and local bodies,  pubic works. drinking water, power and construction regularities agencies of state.

 

Panel directed district heads of department to bring opaqueness, accountability in the implementation of progress works and maintaining the quality of developmental projects. Local bodies representatives also bring up number issues before the panel which would be taken up with the state government for early disposal. Elected representatives also raised the disparity of charging different water charges  under the urban bodies through department of water supply in the district headquarter. The Solan town also known as Mashroom for presence of number of units suffering due to absence of permanent posting of Chief Executive Officer of municipal committees and  lack of proper solid waste management project.
