More than 1.95 crore apple boxes exported to markets

Himachal Pradesh exported as many as 1.95  carton of apples in the national apple markets across India. A spokesperson of the Horticulture Department disclosed today that more than 1.95 crore apple boxes had been exported so far to various markets through 43,327 trucks from the State.

 

He said that 15,255 metric tonnes of apple was procured under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) by HPMC and HIMFED up to 19 October, 2016. He said 277 collection centres had been opened under MIS in apple producing areas of the State to facilitate the fruit growers.
