Himachal Pradesh High Court today directed the Deputy Commissioner Solan, Director Town & Country Planning HP and Town & Country Planner Solan, to remain present before the Court in a matter pertaining to illegal encroachment made on the both sides of Parwanoo –Shimla National Highway.
The Court further directed Deputy Commissioner Solan and Superintendent of Police Solan that if they notice any person raising construction in violation of the directions passed by the Court, that be sealed immediately and action be also drawn, as per the law applicable. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a petition taken up suo moto by the Court as Public Interest Litigation on a news item published in newspaper Amar Ujala in year 2014 regarding illegal encroachment on the road side on National Highway.
The State had filed status report in this matter, in which the details of all the encroachers, who have made encroachments at Barog and all the National Highways was given.
