HP CM announces 6 per cent DA to employees and pensioners

    The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh announced 6 per cent DA to employees and pensioners of the State Government from 1st Jan 2016 to be payable from October. An interim relief of five per cent had already been announced from 1 August.

    Addressing a gathering on the occasion of India’s 70th Independence Day, the Chief Minister said the arrears of the DA from January this year would be paid in October. An interim relief of 5 per cent was already announced in August 1, a government spokesperson said.

    Virbhadra earlier hoisted the national flag on a 121-feet-tall pole and took salute of 17 contingents of the Army at the Thodo ground. A contingent from neighbouring Uttarakhand also participated. He also paid floral tributes at the Shaheed Smarak at Chambaghat on the outskirts of Shimla town. A colourful cultural programme was presented by school students. Similar Independence Day functions were also organised in all 12 district headquarters.
