Rain disrupts old Hindustan Tibet road near Theog affecting Apple transportation

Heavy Monsoon rainfall disrupts the old Hindustan Tibet National Highway -5 near Theog as two huge Deodar trees blocked the traffic near Circuit house. In wake of heavy congestion of traffic owning to peak apple season administration pressed heavy machineries to clear the road, police source confirmed.

The long queued load apple trucks and tourist vehicles stranded for about four to five hours as the administration pressed earthmover, wood cutter and sufficient Public Works staff to clear the road. State reported about 250 per cent excess Monsoon rainfall in the last 24 hours thereby caving in the number of landslides and uprooting trees.

The Deputy Mayor of Shimla MC Mr. Tekinder Singh Panwer said that Shimla town alone witnessed uprooting of more than ten massive Deodar trees. The continue rainfall disrupted the movement of commuters and traffic in the town as many link roads closed down in the town and district however Monsoon did not give any relent so far.

After closing down of many link roads in the upper areas of Shimla district transportation of apple loaded truck could not be done as the people were waiting to clear the link road.
