Rain lashes many parts of HP

The monsoon showers today lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh after keeping dormant for the last couple of days as very heavy rain recorded in Mandi and Solan district.

The Met office said that Monsoon rainfall recorded in many parts of the state early this morning as Joginder Nagar in Mandi district had 165 mm rainfall, Arki in Solan 85 mm, Baijnath 45 mm, Sarkaghat 44 mm, Gohar 43 mm, Palampur 39 mm, Sujanpur 33 mm, Jubbarhatti in Shimla 27 mm and Kahu in Hamirpur 25 mm. Shimla town recorded 22 mm rainfall, Dehra Gopipur 20 mm, Bilaspur 17 mm, Kasauli 16 mm and Mandi 14 mm.

Shimla recorded minimum temperature of 17 degree Celsius, Sunder nagar 20 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu and Nahan of Sirmaur 22 degrees each.

Kalpa in Kinnaur and Keylong in Lahaul Spiti district was low at 16.4 degrees each, Dharamshala 17.4 degrees, Una 27 degrees, Keylong 16.4, Palampur 19 degrees, Solan and Mandi 21.7 degrees each, Manali 14 degrees and Kangra and Bilaspur 21.5 degrees and Hamirpur 22.5 degrees.

The Met office forecast rain and thundershowers in many parts of the State and warned off heavy rainfall at isolated parts of mid and foothill during the next 24 hours.
