Monsoon likely to be normal in Himachal

Affirming the Monsoon forecast made by the Indian Meteorological Department in the South East Asia,the local Met department said that North Western Himalayan States like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttrakhand likely to be better Monsoon prospect this year as there is more probability of normal monsoon in this season.

Shimla IMD department incharge and Local Met Office Director Mr. Manmohan Singh told that there is probability of 40 percent normal monsoon, 21 percent above normal Monsoon and 30 percent of below normal monsoon which shows that there is 61 percent probability of normal and above normal monsoon in the hill state.

Since the IMD forecast affirmed the better monsoon in the all Monsoon nations in South East Asia the state likely to have improved Monsoon which would be yield better result of agriculture in 85 per cent rain fed arable lands.

He said that State was receiving good spell of Monsoon however it is about more than a week to arrive SW Monsoon in the state as it had yet to enter in the East Himalayan States from where it take backward route to ward North Western Himalayan states like Himachal Pradesh.

Gohar in Mandi recorded rainfall 165 mm rainfall, Sundernagar 121 mm, Bijahi 110 mm, Sarkhaghat 81 mm, Paonta Sahib in Nahan & Dharampur in Mandi 62 mm each, Nahan in Sirmour 58 mm.

Hill station Kasauli in Solan and Jhanjehli in Mandi 46 mm each, Kahu in Hamirpur 43 mm, Karsog of Mandi and Pachhad 42 mm each, Solan & Pandoh of Mandi 41 mm each, tourist resort Manali and Sangrah of Sirmaour 38 mm each respectively.

The maximum temperature also increased in the State as Shimla was high at 24.5 degrees, Sundernagar 32.1 degrees, Bhuntar 32 degrees, Kalpa 21.4 degrees, Dharamshala 30.2 degrees, Una 37.7 degrees, Nahan 29.3 degrees, Solan 27 degrees, Kangra 34.1 degrees and Manali 22 degrees respectively.

The Met office forecast rain or thundershowers at few places in mid and foothills and isolated part in the high reaches during the next 24 hours.
