Shimla Airport to begin air flights from Jun 9

Keeping off for more than three years, the air flights will begin from Jun 9 at Airport Jubbarhatti near Shimla as IIC Tecnhologies agreed to start air flights between Chandigarh – Shimla, Shimla – Gaggal, Shimla – Kullu.

A spokesman of the State Government informed here today that IIC Technologies Limited with their air operator permit will commence passenger service (Air Himalaya) between Chandigarh, Shimla, Kullu and Dharamshala. Urban Development Minister Mr. Sudhir Sharma would flag off the flight from Shimla on 9th June 2016.

He said that the company’s aircraft would take off from Chandigarh to Kullu at 0850 hours, Kullu to Chandigarh at 0950 hours, Chandigarh to Shimla at 1050 hours, Shimla to Gaggal at 1130 hours, Gaggal to Shimla at 1300 hours and Shimla to Chandigarh at 1420 hours daily. This would provide good air connectivity to the State besides boosting tourism activities, he added.
