HP Government exempts magic shows from entertainment tax

    The Himachal Pradesh Government exempted the magic and related art shows from entertainment tax as the State Government was earlier levying about 15 per cent of entertainment tax on such events.

    The Reknown Magician Jadugar Samrat Shankar who was exhibiting his shows at the historical Gaiety Theater hailed the State Government gesture to promote such dieing art in the Country. Mr. Singh who unveiled month long event here said that tourists in particular and people of this town in general would be benefited from such event as it would offer them more recreation during their stay in the hill station.

    Jadugar Samrat who dedicated the first day of event to the Red Cross charity took out a motor bike ride on the crowded Mall road and Ridge covering his both eyes with a dark clothe giving message to the masses that they should avert accidents after honing their driving skill as this hill state are among few high accident prone states take lives of more than 1200 people and rendering the 5000 others with broken limbs and fatal injuries.

    Before the magic shows enthralled the audience in jam packed Gaiety theater reknown magician welcomed the State Government for waiving off the entertainment duty from the magic art from this year onward. State levy entertainment duties on the shows on similar other events including the Cinema halls in the State.
