HP HC seeks report from Government on the actions taken to stop accidents

The Himachal Pradesh High Court today directed the State Government to file a fresh status report in the matter pertaining to bad condition of the roads because of which most of the accidents take place in the State.

The Court also directed the respondent to report whether stops have been earmarked enabling the passengers to debark and embark on or before the next date of hearing.

The Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a petition filed by Ajay Siphayia the petitioner had prayed in the petition that several bus accidents cases are being reported from all over the state in the various newspapers.

The fatal road accidents in the State are showing no signs of stopping and inspite of various statements given by the Transport Ministry, no effective deterrent action appears to have been taken. As per the directions of the court now the matter is to be taken on July 14, 2016.
