High reaches of HP experiences snowfall

High reaches of Himachal Pradesh including some tourist places had light to moderate spell of rain and snowfall in last 24 hours as it was partly cloudy in the State.

In Chamba district, Tissa recorded 13-centimetre snowfall, Kalpa in Kinnaur 6 centimetre, Keylong 5 centimetre, Manali in Kullu & Udaipur in Lahaul-Spiti 3 centimetre each.

Rainfall recorded at Chamba 19 mm, Tissa 7 mm, Chatarari 6 mm, Dalhousie 5 mm, Manali 4 mm and Kheri 3 mm respectively.

The minimum temperature declined by 2-3 degrees as Keylong was coldest with -7.8 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur -5.8 degrees, Manali -2.2 degrees, Dalhousie -1.6 degrees, Shimla 1.7 degrees, Solan 2.5 degrees and Bhunter 3 degrees. Chamba was low at 4 degrees, Sunderngar, Mandi, Kangra and Bilaspur 5 degrees each, Dharamshala 6 degrees, Hamirpur and Una 7 degrees and Nahan 9 degrees.

Met Office forecasts rain and snowfall at few places on high reaches and mainly dry weather in rest of state.
